RM-Set (RESULT) > Info/Modification

RM Sets of the type RESULT are offered for the generation of diagram plots (Action "DgmSet") and output lists (Action "DoRep"). The input pad contains several sub-functions for defining  different types of parameters. General settings are defined above the tool bar for selecting these functions.

SettingDescription
Information This line shows the descriptive text as specified on creating the RM Set. The descriptive text may also be modified within this pad.
Diagram file Name of any diagram file created interactively by ticking the <Plot to file> button in the bottom line of the window.
Report file Name of any list file created interactively by ticking the <Report file> button in the bottom line of the window.
General Definition of general parameter governing the layout and contents of the output
SettingDescription
Head lines 1 to 4 Additional texts for the diagram legend (only line 1) and for the list header.
Suppress output of head lines in report file The specified header lines will be ignored for output in the the report file.
List rows: Elements, not sorted: Diagram: The elements define the abscissa, each load case one curve.

List: For each specified load case or envelope a table of results will be generated. (obsolete: "Sorted by results")

List rows: Elements, ascending numbers: Diagram: as above, but abscissa is sorted by ascending element numbers

List: not implemented, assumption: elements not sorted

List rows: Elements, descending numbers: Diagram: as above, but abscissa is sorted by descending element numbers

List: not implemented, assumption: elements not sorted

List rows: Load cases: Diagram: The load cases and envelopes define the abscissa, each result one curve. For every given element position one plotfile will be generated.

List: not implemented, assumption: elements, ascending

List rows: Load cases | Header: Elements, ascending: Diagram: as above

List: For every specified element position a table of results will be generated, one row per load case /envelope. The tables will be output sorted by ascending element numbers.

List rows: Load cases | Header: Elements, descending Diagram: as above

List: as above, but the tables will be output sorted by descending element numbers.

Calculation of stresses
SettingDescription
Strain - Stress

The stresses to be output will be calculated using the specified relation from the stored strains.

Default: E-Modulus

Attention: For the list output E-Modulus is always used.
Principal stresses acc. to:

In the menu for selecting the result components to be presented, the program just offers the possibility to select principal stresses, but no equivalent stresses. The switch here allows for presenting equivalent stresses instead of equivalent stresses.

  • v.Mises:  Equivalent stresses according to vonMises (deformation energy hypothesis) are output instead of the principal stresses. SigI gives the actual equivalent stress, SigII is zero and SigIII gives the equivalent stress with negative sign.
  • Shear Method:  Equivalent stresses according to Tresca (maximum shear stress hypothesis) are output instead of the principal stresses. SigI gives the actual equivalent stress, SigII is zero and SigIII gives the equivalent stress with negative sign.
  • else:  Actual principal stresses are output

Default: else (actual principal stresses)
